Rust & Stardust is a Sussex-based puppet theatre company. We're passionate about stories and storytelling, folklore and mythology, unconventional performance spaces and all things handmade. Our first production, The Wild Man of Orford, was shortlisted for the 2015 Fringe Sustainable Practice Award by the Center for Sustainable Practice in the Arts and Creative Carbon Scotland.
We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with recorder quartet Palisander, Dr Dee's Daughter and the Philosopher's Stone, has been funded by Arts Council England for a UK tour in 2017. Next stop is The Stables in Milton Keynes!
We just visited beautiful Orford for another collaboration with the Thomas Marshall Education Fund, The Green Children of Woolpit. We had a great time performing in St Bartholomew's Church, talking to Arts Award students at the local school, and giving a puppet animation workshop!
We are looking forward to taking part in a group exhibition at the Hove Gallery & Museum with other Sussex puppeteers and artists - The Art of Puppetry: Making Magic In The Museum, which opens on 26 May.
We are also delighted to launch our brand new Puppet Parties - the perfect handmade fun for your child's birthday or special day! For more information and booking enquiries click here.
