To keep everyone safe during this challenging time, Rust & Stardust Productions is closed at the moment following government advice about COVID-19. However, we're inviting you to join us online to bring the magical world of Rust & Stardust into your own home. In the coming days, we'll be sharing puppet making and other craft tutorials, meet the puppets videos and more. Check out our YouTube channel here.
Our current Arts Council funded project, The Marsh Demons of Iken, has been postponed for the moment, but we are still working hard in isolation to create the puppets and costumes!
Rust & Stardust is a Sussex-based puppet theatre company.
We are passionate about stories and storytelling, folklore and mythology, unconventional performance spaces and all things handmade.
Rust & Stardust was established by Katie Sommers and Eleanor Conlon in 2015. We create all of our puppets, costumes, sets and props ourselves, and produce our own original scripts for touring, festivals, schools and events.
We pride ourselves on our commitment to sustainability in theatre and taking responsibility for our environmental impact. We aim to use recycled and re-purposed materials in the creation of our puppets, animations, sets and costumes, and to promote greener theatre in our workshops and education projects.
Please contact us for touring information and costs, and we are open for puppet commissions for theatre, film and individuals, so please do get in touch.
We are looking forward to some exciting work in 2019 and are delighted to have been funded by Applause Rural Touring to create Tweethearts, a brand new show for families, which will tour Kent and Sussex this summer.
