We Shall Be Monsters

Part of Brighton Science Festival

1780. Ernest Frankenstein’s young wife Clara is desperate to have a child – even if she has to make it herself. When she discovers Ernest’s brother Victor’s journal telling of his monstrous experiments and creation of a creature, Clara sees a solution.

A tender Gothic tale of motherhood and the feminine Frankenstein, with live and shadow puppetry, We Shall Be Monsters is part of Brighton Science Festival and responds to its 2018 themes of designer babies and genetic engineering.
